Some of you know I've been redecorating my home starting with the main bathroom. I've finally got it the way I want it to look and here's how it turned out.

I like the piles of rolls up towels and stuff, I leave mine on the floor mostly for the laundry fairy to deal with :)
Its really funky that we have the same air fresheners in the UK that you do in the USA - LOL, yes, I see everything - but I am pretty sure that we aren't allowed any electrical stuff in our bathrooms :(
Towel fairy my foot! I have 2 brothers I spent years picking up after so I know that fairy is on strike. Where better to put an electric air freshener? Especially with Rat for a friend :)

My Mom had been saying for about 4 months before her death that she expected her family to start dropping like flies very soon. Mom was 77 and has brothers and sisters ranging from 62 thru 85 years old. She was one of 15 kids and she made the 3rd to be lost in March. Her sister Janie just 2 years older than Mom died today. She was just getting over illness when Mom died and she looked horrible at her funeral, had to be led around and held up by her husband.
Not a week after the funeral she was in the hospital and has been in and out since then today she was bleeding internally and they couldn't stop it, finally trying emergency surgery which she didn't survive. The family began the round of phone calls to make sure everyone heard before a stranger said something about it.
My sister and I will represent our family at the funeral, though both of us are dreading it terribly. If it's at the same funeral parlor as Mom, I'm not sure how I'll handle it honestly.
I wasn't that close to Aunt Janie since as a child I saw here be a stone cold bitch toward her own children. But she was kind at Mom's funeral and not at all her usual self. Odd isn't it?
The authorities that failed to follow up on the first call on this, should be fired and not permitted to work in the field again. However I can't wait to watch the family that will now pour out of the woodwork to claim the child now that a lawsuit on his behalf against the city/state is sure to be filed.
They couldn't be bothered while it was going on but they are sure to find a place in their hearts now for this child. I wouldn't be surprised to hear a custody battle among the remaining family, you know the ones that hid their eyes from the abuse earlier. If there were true justice the child would be taken away and never have to see another one of that family and they should never see a penny of what is sure to be millions settled in his name.
This is wrong on so many levels honestly the mother and girlfriend & babysitter that hurt and burnt this child don't deserve prision, a bullet in the brain is what they deserve. No I don't agree with torturing them in the same way since I'm not an animal like them.
But I also don't see 25 years to life as being appropriate either since that might be 7-10 years truly served then out and they will most likely have a few more kids while in prison to be waiting for them when they are freed.
I swear I could pull the trigger and sleep well at night, all it'd take is one look at that little boy. Yep maybe I'm not as civilized as I thought.
It is exactly these sort of people who do this that should be locked up with the keys thrown away of their cell. They deserve no place in normal society.
Nah bullet is too good for them....I think that they should be made to go through the same things...having their hands burned on a stove, cigarette burns to their body and genital, malnutrition, bumps, bruises and to have to sit in their own urine and feces.....
Then give them over to the wonderful people in jail. Convicted of child abuse, puts you on the lowest rung of the ladder in a prison. Let them be used and abused for awhile......
Just bring them into the prison yard and annouce what they did to the inmates. Then just turn your backs and avert your eyes.
They will be taken care of post-haste.
Pondering a Poll Question

I just saw a poll asking if one thought houses were better than covens? The possible responses were yes, no or they're the same. Okay now that left me with some questions of my own feelings on the matter. I think the covens are absolutely as good as houses if that's what suits your needs or personality. Myself I like the stability of a house, knowing that even if the Master changes the house remains and the members don't find themselves looking for a new home sometimes with little warning.
This account has always been in my house and as anyone knows that knows me at all I'm one happy camper in UO. I have 2 other accounts that both belong in different covens and with both of them I'm very involved, happy and supportive of the goals of that group. So I fully understand that a coven is no less than a house it's more a matter of stability I think that matters to me.
When I take a look at the coven listings many of them are headed by people I consider friends or among the very best the site has to offer in way of intelligence or interesting personalities so saying a coven isn't as good as a house just isn't true. But I think trying to compare the two of them is where the mistake is being made for there isn't anything to compare they are simply different enough to stand alone themselves.
So all this gabbing was me talking out that I don't believe Houses are better than Covens but I also don't believe they are equal either. They're just what they are and different.
Covens are born with the strength of one good leader, but yet the strongest Houses are those who have gone through change management processes. Change can be innovative as well as creating strength.
I agree with you sis. Houses are not going to be closed, but Coven do see that happen. Other then that- anything you do in a House you can do in a Coven.
There are some pretty old covens out there and I doubt they are going anywhere. It all depends on the coven master and the acms to ensure that the covens stay up and running. Houses have been known to revamp leaders and it does cause quite a commotion too though.
That being said though, I'm still partial to my LBO :P

I understand the implications but never learned how to dance as I grew up in Redneck Oklahoma where dances feature only Country music. Which I cannot handle (Goddess bless AC DC)

Well the Lifetime membership contest House Eternal sponsored has been won but since it went so quickly the members of that awesome house have thrown in more prizes so others can still play. They did a lot of work and it was a great contest from the artwork to where they were hidden. Great Job to all you involved in it.
A new member of Eternal actually won, a member who joined when her coven closed down. I'm tickled pink someone won who was a very active member with their primary account (or only) and not already a lifetime member.
I'm sure knowing the trolls that get off on it some will no doubt claim favortism or cheating or some such crap but I'll tell everyone right now I know for a fact that everything possible was done to ensure fairness to all members of VR and that means that Eternal members not involved in the contest played too.
Anyone with a question about it don't bother the fine folks in Eternal please please come talk to me and I'll be happy to take care of your questions or complaints.
You know one of my favorite things to do on VR these days is cruising through my favorite journals list and reading and getting to read and leave comments. I swear some of the best writing and funniest is going on there. The biggest problem is not going back to them so often that the folks on it become worried they're being stalked. Oh well if any of you read this and you see me visiting over and over, well it's your own fault for being such an interesting person.
Thats a darn good point, Nightgame. Sometimes I go back a few times to read the comments on a particular entry and I think, "is it gonna look like I am checking on this journal every 5 minutes?" Yikes.
*hugs* Your journal was one of the first I ever added. I have always respected your views, since they are similar to mine. Of course I will go back and check your comments, as I love to see what people say.

Was sitting in a restaurant with my sister and 2 great looking guys walked by one with beautiful long clean brown hair pulled back in a leather tie down his back and his friend was wearing his hair cut high and tight. I was watching them walk down the sidewalk and the heck with my food the view was much better. Finally my sister asked what was wrong and I looked at her shocked that she hadn't even noticied them. I pointed the backs of the two fellows out and she just shrugged and said "the only thing I'm attracted to is a computer after living with my ignorant husband for 15 years". I choked up laughing so hard.
Understand her husband is the dumbest drop out know it all you'll ever meet.
TWO great looking guys - together? Must not have been in our town......lol

was sitting in a restaurant booth across from my sister and we had the 2 kids sitting beside us 1 each. We're sitting there sipping our iced teas waiting on the burgers when suddenly I feel a grab on my ear and my sisters eyes got big and she choked on her drink. A lady who'd come up behind me says Oh how pretty and turned to the woman walking beside her before she said
I love those earrings and sets it to swinging I say thank you and she lets go of my ear and walks on to the salad bar but my sister is trying to stifle her laughter. Finally she can talk and say wow I thought I was going to have to throw down on her for you! "smart ass" I wanted to say but since little ears were listening I had to settle for a swift kick to the shin under the table. Strange folks grabbing any part of me just throws my whole day off I gotta say. weirded me out since I'm not a touchy feeling kind of person anyway. But was sure funny later on.
